About The Position

In this role you will be responsible for preparing and portioning food and beverages following standardized recipes and menus. You will assemble patient meal trays accurately according to dietary orders and preferences, and deliver meals to patient rooms or designated areas promptly and courteously. Additionally, you will serve food in cafeteria or retail areas, maintaining quality presentation and customer service. Other responsibilities include washing dishes, utensils, and equipment using proper sanitation procedures, cleaning and sanitizing workstations, kitchen surfaces, and dining areas, and following infection control, food safety, and personal hygiene practices. You will monitor food temperatures and storage conditions to ensure regulatory compliance, assist with unpacking, stocking, and rotating food and supply deliveries, and report low stock levels or expired items to supervisors. Ensuring proper labeling and storage of all food items is also part of your duties. You will work collaboratively with dietitians, cooks, and other food service staff, and communicate effectively with nursing staff to resolve meal-related issues. Responding to patient and visitor inquiries with professionalism and care is essential.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous food service experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or institutional setting preferred.
