Responsible for the daily management of a congregate senior meal site (located at Bedford Manor). This includes proper portioning and service of the food, excellent customer service, and maintenance of a cleanly and food safe environment. The food service worker is expected to be friendly, respectful, courteous, professional, and able to maintain a positive attitude in stressful situations. Comply with all program and regulatory requirements, including the following: Operating standards, Michigan food code, and agency policies. Proper food handling procedures in all aspects of work, including hygiene, hand washing, glove and hairnet or hat use, checking temperatures and sanitizer strength, cleaning and sanitizing food contact surfaces, and prevention of cross-contamination. Ensure all food is served in accordance to the portioning guide Maintain client confidentiality as required by HIPAA Set-up, serve, and clean-up meal site on time. Responsible for submitting all required paperwork on time; and must also make sure that cash is handled appropriately and that donations are turned in to senior services. Other duties as assigned.
