About The Position
The Food Service Worker position at Keeneyville School Nutrition is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals to students in a safe and healthful manner. This role is essential in ensuring that meals are not only delicious but also meet the nutritional standards set forth by the school nutrition program. The worker will be involved in various tasks that include food preparation, serving, cleaning, and compliance with health and safety regulations. The position requires a commitment to maintaining a positive and professional image while adhering to the policies and procedures established by Whitsons. In this role, the Food Service Worker will prepare and serve food according to menus and portion sizes mandated by yield guides. Cleaning duties are also a significant part of the job, which includes sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning equipment and work areas, and dishwashing. The worker will brew coffee, fill beverage machines, and set up hot and cold food areas. Additionally, they may be required to deliver food to staff, students, and catering events when necessary. Compliance with all state, federal, and local health department requirements for safe food handling is crucial, as is adherence to client location security protocols and guidelines. The Food Service Worker will also be responsible for checking and storing incoming supplies, following assigned break schedules, and participating in ware washing if assigned. They will manage point-of-sale (POS) and cash handling if applicable. Participation in safety committees and attendance at mandatory in-service programs are also required. The role is designed to support the goals and mission of Whitsons, ensuring that all food handling certification requirements are met and maintained.
