About The Position

Under the supervision of a Department of Food and Nutrition Services Supervisor or Manager, the Food Service Worker II uses excellent customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, officials and all members of the general public.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of either food production/storage or computer skills; quality interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of touchscreen technology
  • Ability to assist with patient meal selection

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or proof of completion (GED)
  • 1- or 2-years hospital food service experience
  • CPR and First Aide certification

Responsibilities

  • Assists in tray set-up
  • Collects, processes and disposes of trash accordingly. Performs general cleaning duties as requested
  • Delivers meals to patient care units. Assists patients when possible. Cleans food carriers upon return. Prepares, stocks and transports food carriers
  • Follows work assignments as established
  • Keep dining room tables straightened and clean
  • Locks register when leaving the immediate area
  • Operates cash register accordingly. Collects cash/ guest meal tickets and makes change as needed
  • Participates and maintains cleaning schedules. Maintains cleanliness of work area, equipment and supplies
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
  • Reconciles cash accurately and fills out a reconciliation slip. Responsible for all reconciliations with a $3.00 overage/shortage
  • Scrapes, scours and rinses pots, pans, utensils and equipment. Performs heavy cleaning duties
  • Set up menu board to reflect current menu
  • Wipe off counters and tables, arrange and replenish items as needed. Refills and stocks condiments as necessary
