Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
  • Previous Food Service experience, preferred.
  • Skills in communication, building relationships, listening, computer skills, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Completes assigned functions within the department, providing excellent customer service.
  • Operates and maintains dietary food equipment.
  • Promotes meal assistance to all patients on a daily basis, including meal selection, service, and retrieval.
  • Accurately serves food and beverage to patients in accordance with the patient's diet prescription.
  • Verbally communicates patient concerns with the clinical dietitian.
  • Uses dietary software for patient diet information, ordering, and ticketing.
  • Adheres to all cash handling guidelines.
  • Performs a variety of customer, food, and sanitation related activities.
  • Visits all patients on assigned floors for menu selections.
  • Delivers trays and obtains menu selections tactfully and with concern for patient well-being.
  • Records food temperatures during meal hours and takes action when temperatures are not to standards.
  • Maintains accurate cash drawers and completes cash deposits.
  • Maintains personal hygiene and proper uniform according to department standards.
  • Completes all daily washing and sanitizing tasks.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work area.
  • Performs all assigned daily and monthly cleaning tasks.
  • Controls food and paper waste and uses resources efficiently.
  • Maintains and checks floor par stocks on assigned floors.
  • Presents a professional courteous manner when dealing with patients, physicians, visitors, and staff.
  • Resolves customer complaints in a polite manner.
  • Treats co-workers with respect and allows for different work styles and viewpoints.
  • Participates in department Practice Council.
