About the position

The PantherDining Hall at Georgia State University is seeking to hire a Food Service Worker II to provide support to Athletic Training Table. This position maintains a high degree of pace and intensity for an extended period. Demonstrates solid time awareness and time management. Delivers products to multiple locations on a continuous basis ensuring products time and temperature is controlled in accordance with specialized units' guidelines and procedures. Develops and adheres to operational procedures in assigned areas of responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Train and guide staff on job duties, proper food safety and sanitation procedures, customer service, etc.
  • Be cross-trained for another position and/or responsibilities to provide back-up for a department and supplement resources needed during certain times of the year.
  • Take initiative and be responsive to team's needs.
  • Adhere to set guidelines, policies, and time schedules.
  • Perform all aspects of this position in a timely and concise manner.
  • Set up, maintain, and break down multiple workstations and specialized machines ensuring product is stocked to appropriate levels and all areas are properly cleaned and sanitized.
  • Complete health and safety daily logbook.
  • Work multiple stations with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
  • Have a vast knowledge of menu items and recipes to effectively service the customers' needs.
  • Assist with placing work orders, maintenance repairs, and ordering products.
  • Assist in the everyday operations and monitoring of FIFO (First In First Out) food rotation.
  • Inspect food storage areas to reduce food waste and ensure areas are following health code guidelines and department standards.
  • Monitor and control product on lines.
  • Clean, operate, and maintain floor machine.
  • Inspect dining facility daily and report any damaged structures, furniture, equipment, flooring, or any repair requests, as well as any safety concerns, to their supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous food service and maintenance experience.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds.
  • Ability to work in all temperature conditions.
  • Open availability, being able to work 40 hours per week.
  • Flexible schedule to include nights and weekends.
