About The Position

The Food Service Worker position at UW Medical Center - Northwest involves serving food and beverages, operating cash registers, and maintaining cleanliness in food service areas. This role is essential in delivering quality nutrition and customer service to patients and guests during evening shifts.

Requirements

• Possession of, or eligible to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment.

Responsibilities

• Operates cash register, accurately makes change, and deposits cash and accompanying Cashier Detail Report into safe at end of shift.
• Ensures that prices, signs, and other POS information are correctly and neatly posted.
• Serves food and beverages to guests, sets up and maintains attractive displays, brews coffee, and ensures that beverages are prepared and stocked.
• Maintains and documents temperatures of food items and equipment, including refrigerators and dishwashers.
• Uses F.I.F.O. (First In-First Out) for product handling, including dating, labeling, and proper storage.
• Takes inventory and maintains stock at proper levels, stocks cafeteria with clean dishes, and puts away clean wares.
• Operates dish machine; collects soiled dishes, scrapes, washes, and sanitizes pots, pans, and utensils.
• Cleans and sanitizes food service equipment and ensures that work areas and public dining areas are neat and sanitary.
• Prepares, delivers, and retrieves patient trays and gourmet meals as assigned, acting as a liaison between patients and the Food Service department.
