Food Service Worker/Delivery Driver
About The Position
This position is working inside a jail/correctional facility at the Craven County Jail and transporting meals to the Beaufort County Jail. The Food Service Worker/Delivery Driver will be responsible for driving a company vehicle for an established route/territory. They will assist in the loading, unloading, and delivering goods to customer locations. They will also be responsible for assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility. This position will also accurately and efficiently prepare and serve a variety of food items in accordance with assigned work instructions and menus as well as utilize a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food. Requirements
- High school diploma or Equivalent, and you must be at least 18 years of age.
- A valid state driver's license for assigned vehicles is required.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to transport and set up food and food service items.
- Knowledge of safe driving procedures and traffic rules.
- Strong team orientation.
Nice To Haves
- One (1) years' experience in delivering products/inventory preferred.
Responsibilities
- Learning the delivery area.
- Checking orders for quality and accuracy.
- Following proper delivery procedures.
- Assist with food preparation, serving, and kitchen maintenance, cleaning, and sanitizing as needed.
- Assist with receiving food and supply deliveries from vendors and restocking.
- Transfer supplies and equipment by hand or with cart as identified by supervisor to the proper location.
- Gather supplies required for each site as detailed on production sheets and order guides.
- Load, Unload, and deliver products and orders in a timely manner.
- Report any necessary maintenance or repairs needed on the company vehicle to the manager.
- Responsible for maintaining and keeping the vehicle clean
- This role includes physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
- Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift when not driving.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
