About The Position

The Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing and serving meals, as well as performing additional food service duties as directed. This position requires adherence to high-performance standards and compliance with health and food safety regulations. The worker will operate kitchen equipment, maintain cleanliness, and ensure the effective delivery of quality food services.

Requirements

• Meets all education/training requirements described in the USDA Professional Standards Rule for School Nutrition Employees.
• Available to work a non-traditional schedule and irregular hours when needed.
• Maintains a record free of criminal violations that prohibit public school employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves food while maintaining an orderly and sanitary kitchen.
• Follows published menus and uses standardized recipes to maintain quality control.
• Complies with USDA child nutrition guidelines and health and food safety regulations.
• Sets up serving lines and ensures attractive presentation of food.
• Operates the cash register and ensures correct money exchange.
• Cleans and sanitizes work surfaces, equipment, and dining areas.
• Accounts for all meals served and prepares daily records of receipts.
• Helps with the receipt of deliveries and verifies quantities.
• Maintains open and effective communications with co-workers and the public.
• Pursues opportunities to enhance job knowledge and skill proficiency.
