About The Position

The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), Hollidaysburg Veterans' Home is looking for a dedicated Food Service Worker 1 with a passion for working in the food industry. By providing food service in our long-term care facility for veterans and their spouses, you will be creating a positive and fulfilling environment for our nation's heroes. Your contributions will be valued and appreciated as we strive to provide the highest quality of service to those who have made sacrifices for our country. As a Food Service Worker 1, you will perform routine work involving food preparation, food service, and sanitation within the Hollidaysburg Veterans' Home. Key duties of the position include cleaning and sanitizing equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, pans, work surfaces, and other kitchen items; preparing trays; measuring portions; serving food; transporting trays, carts, and nourishment; as well as using equipment such as mixers, dicers, slicers, knives, and grinders. Your attention to detail and adherence to food safety protocols will be vital in providing nutritious and enjoyable meals for our residents.
