About The Position

The Food Service Team Leader at Target is responsible for leading the Food & Beverage team to ensure a consistent experience for guests by managing product freshness, inventory accuracy, and food safety. This role involves planning daily and weekly workloads, leading a team of hourly team members, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. The position requires a focus on guest service, operational efficiency, and team development.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Age 18 or older.
  • Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong interest and knowledge of the food service business.
  • Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in food service or retail management.

Responsibilities

  • Understand sales goals and execute daily/weekly workload to deliver department and store sales goals and guest engagement.
  • Plan food service transitions, revisions, sales plans, sampling, promotions, and price change workload.
  • Assign daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns.
  • Assess Food Service back of house, production areas, dining spaces, and merchandising spaces to ensure food safety and proper inventory levels.
  • Walk Food & Beverage Standards and Food Service routines daily to assess priorities and review reporting.
  • Follow all food safety requirements and cleaning routines.
  • Validate and follow-up on team members' progress against department checklists and routines.
  • Lead team to uphold and maintain all Starbucks and Pizza Hut Brand Standards.
  • Foster a productive relationship with the Starbucks district manager.
  • Ensure accurate in-stocks by placing store-initiated orders.
  • Make production quantity decisions to ensure freshness and profitability.
  • Participate in team hiring and onboarding processes.
  • Establish clear goals and expectations for team members.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Lead and demonstrate a safety culture.
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier and order pick up.
  • Model creating a welcoming experience for guests.
