The Food & Beverage team enables a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring the product is fresh, in stock, available and accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. They are experts in operations, process and efficiency. This team leads food and food services including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes for all Food & Beverage areas of the store. The role of a Food Service Team Leader can provide you with the skills and experience of guest service fundamentals and experience building a guest first culture on your team, food & beverage business fundamentals, planning department(s) daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver sales, and leading a team of hourly team members.

Responsibilities

  • Understand sales goals, plan and execute daily/weekly workload to deliver department and store sales goals and guest engagement.
  • Work a schedule that aligns to guest and business needs.
  • Assign daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns.
  • Assess Food Service back of house, production areas, dining spaces and merchandising spaces to ensure food safety and proper inventory levels.
  • Walk Food & Beverage Standards and Food Service routines daily to assess priorities and review reporting to identify business gaps for follow-up.
  • Follow all food safety requirements and cleaning routines.
  • Validate and follow-up on team members' progress against department checklists and routines.
  • Lead team to uphold and maintain all Starbucks and Pizza Hut Brand Standards.
  • Foster a productive relationship with your Starbucks district manager.
  • Ensure accurate in-stocks by placing store-initiated orders according to best practices.
  • Follow proper perishable inventory management procedures.
  • Make production quantity decisions just in time to ensure freshness, in-stocks, sales and profitability.
  • Remain up-to-date on relevant trends and products to educate team members.
  • Participate in team hiring and onboarding processes.
  • Establish clear goals and expectations and hold team members accountable.
  • Complete all Starbucks and/or Pizza Hut training requirements and certifications.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
  • Lead and demonstrate a safety culture through modeling and recognizing safe behaviors.
  • Support merchandise protection strategies across the total store.
  • Address all store emergency and compliance needs.
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick up and Drive-up.
  • Model creating a welcoming experience by greeting guests.
  • Demonstrate how to engage with guests when assistance is needed.
  • Lead by thanking guests and let them know we're happy they chose to shop at Target.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Age 18 or older.
  • Strong interest and knowledge of the food service business.
  • Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
