About The Position

Scotts Valley Unified School District provides every student with educational and social learning opportunities so they can develop their skills and thrive in a modern world. We are small, comprehensive public school district in the beautiful redwood mountains, located 5 minutes from Santa Cruz and 20 minutes from San Jose. The district is comprised of 4 schools - two elementary, a middle school, and a high school, and our total enrollment is about 2100 students. GENERAL DESCRIPTION Under direct supervision of the District Food Services Manager, perform duties that are broadly defined and follow established procedures with minimal supervision. Exercise good judgment and discretion in planning and prioritizing work in receiving, storing and distribution of supplies, materials and equipment. Meets established delivery schedules and communicates with peers in immediate work group, district staff, and outside delivery persons. Maintain the child nutrition services facility in a clean and sanitary condition. Assist in daily food preparation and serving when required.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up and deliver perishable food items, school supplies, district mail, materials, equipment, and other special requests
  • Operate various food service equipment
  • Perform daily and weekly care and sanitation of food services equipment
  • Assist with ordering supplies needed according to menu and menu production worksheet
  • Take inventory of supplies for a specific area; assist in general inventory; maintain necessary records
  • When required assist in the preparation, portioning and packaging of food; collect money, make change and work with student assistants
  • Serve student and adult customers
  • Make regular deliveries of bank deposits; picks up cafeteria money from schools
  • Sort and deliver inter-district mail
  • Deliver food to school sites
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned
