About The Position

University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center North Liberty, Food & Nutrition Services is seeking a weekend Food Service Supervisor. This position will supervise the performance of general service staff in designated areas and enforces departmental work guidelines and policies/procedures. The new University of Iowa Health Care North Liberty Campus opened in the Spring of 2025. This 469,000 square foot facility is home to UI Health Care's nationally recognized Orthopedics service line, offering comprehensive, coordinated, and accessible care across the outpatient, inpatient and surgical venues. These state-of-the-art clinical facilities include a full-service community imaging center, laboratory services, physical therapy, retail pharmacy, and emergency department as well as an array of support services. The facility has been designed to support a superior patient and staff experience; excellence across our patient care, teaching and research missions; convenient access to services; and engaging community partnerships. Requirements

  • High School graduation or equivalent and two years of directly related food distribution experience
  • or any equivalent combination of post high school education and experience providing a knowledge or background in institutional food service distribution

Responsibilities

  • Maintain adequate staffing, food quality, schedules, and quality assurance records
  • Complete assigned forecasting
  • Order menu items to meet demand
  • Assist in providing food service as needed
  • Attend assigned meetings and conducts staff meetings
  • Supervise the performance of general service staff in designated areas
  • Enforces departmental work guidelines and policies/procedures
