The Food Service Shipper/Receiver compiles records concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, issuing and shipping food and beverage materials, supplies and equipment by performing the following duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and write common business levels of correspondence, memos, and formatted letters. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Order systems.
  • Must hold valid State of Vermont Driver’s License and be eligible for enrollment in Jay Peak Resort’s Motor Vehicle Insurance policy.

Responsibilities

  • Compiles data from sources such as purchase orders, invoices and requisitions and writes, types or enters information into computer to maintain inventory, purchasing, shipping or other records.
  • Fulfills delivery of food and beverage related stock to various locations around the resort.
  • Keeps stock established sequence and releases older stock for use first to avoid waste where possible.
  • Prepares requisitions for delivery to resort locations, orders or other documents for purchasing or requisitioning new or additional stock items.
  • Reviews files to determine unused items and recommends disposal of excess stock.
  • Signs for orders received from delivery trucks, notates/receives credit slips from driver and immediately notifies supervisor.
  • Maintains all storage areas, coolers, freezers and loading docks in a clean, safe and sanitary condition.
  • Other duties as assigned, which could be directly related, or unrelated to original position.
