Job SummaryThe Food Service Resident Manager is responsible for overseeing all food service operations for an education account in Baltimore, MD. This role provides hands-on leadership, ensures operational excellence, and delivers high-quality dining services while maintaining compliance with food safety, sanitation, and company standards. The Resident Manager serves as the primary on-site leader, supporting client satisfaction, financial performance, and team development.

Requirements

  • Experience with food cost, inventory, and labor cost required
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Customer service experience is a must
  • Proven experience leading teams in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and labor management
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications and food service systems
  • Local to Baltimore, MD, or within commuting distance

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality or Business Management.
  • At least 3-5 years of food service/ hospitality management experience, preferably in an education setting, including K-12 or College setting
  • Experience in a multi-cultural environment

Responsibilities

  • Ensures guest satisfaction through effective and efficient service and a clean and pleasant environment
  • Maintains order and discipline among all employees
  • Manages financial performance to budgets, focusing on payroll, cash and receipts, productivity, food costs, security of funds, and operating expenses, and adheres to cash management policies
  • Manages checklists and cash reporting; identifies cash shortages and overages during shift
  • Creates crew schedules and identifies when to send crew home according to labor models and customer traffic/volume patterns
  • Perform all ordering, accounting, and maintenance of product and supply inventories
  • Takes initiative to immediately act on violations of safety, sanitation, and security policies
  • Promote a culture of safety, customer service, and continuous improvement
