About The Position

SUMMARY: Assumes responsibility for general nutritional patients and collection of food preferences and menus. Acts as the department guest relations representative-resolving concerns of patients. Receive patient phone calls, input menu selections and offer guidance on following prescribed diet. Works with Food Service Diet tech and Clinical Dietitian-Food Service to resolve food/menu problems and meet special requests of patients. Can deliver meals to patients’ bedside. Assist with all needs/respond/resolve all concerns and requests. Communicate with portable telephones to assure all patients’ needs are met. Take food service supplies (as needed) to patient rooms/outpatient clinics. May be asked to prepare simple foods like sandwiches/salads. Maintains various records such as: tray delivery/pick-up times. Responsible for completed/accurate menus selections for patients (as assigned). Maintains good rapport and cooperative relationships. Approaches conflict in a constructive manner. Helps to identify problems, offer solutions, and participate in their solutions. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Education: Requires high school diploma or GED preferred. Ability to speak, read, and write English is required Required Skills and Abilities: Ability to read, write, and perform math calculations. Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time – up to 100% of the work day. Ability to lift / push up to 50 lbs.
