About The Position

The Food Service Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction and maintaining high standards within the food service department. This role involves training and developing team members, managing operations during shifts, and ensuring compliance with food safety procedures. The manager will also contribute to achieving financial goals and maintaining a positive work environment.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years' restaurant experience or prior Deli/Food Service management experience.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of management and staff.
  • Self-motivated with problem-solving skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, squatting, standing, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, and walking.
  • Ability to stand for long periods (up to 4 hours) and lift/carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a freezer for up to 15 minutes.
  • Technical skills in basic math and computer tasks (Word, Excel, Email).
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must maintain Certified Food Safety Manager certification.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work various hours/shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to accept supervisory coaching regarding performance and work habits.
  • Ability to function as a team member.

Responsibilities

  • Acknowledge, greet, and engage guests upon entering the department.
  • Assist in interviewing, training, scheduling, and evaluating department team members.
  • Communicate information effectively to the entire department.
  • Maintain a positive atmosphere and morale within the department.
  • Demonstrate effective leadership through time management and delegation.
  • Support and execute division concepts and programs.
  • Contribute to meeting financial goals and ensuring product availability.
  • Safeguard and monitor department assets, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Practice safe work habits and maintain cleanliness and organization in the store.
  • Utilize department systems and processes consistently and correctly.
  • Collaborate with the Department Manager for planning production and promotion goals.
  • Coach and develop team members in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate the updating of books and manuals.
  • Assist with inventory processes and reporting.
  • Handle department issues in the absence of the Department Manager, including ordering and delegating tasks.
  • Ensure adherence to Food Safety Procedures.
  • Coordinate the training of Department Leads.
  • Perform other duties as requested by upper management.
