The Food Service Manager is responsible for supervising the food preparation and cooking, maintaining a fully stocked kitchen inventory, and complying with safety and cleanliness standards. They are also responsible for customer satisfaction and accurate work results that are noticeable by the customer (i.e., food quality, wholesomeness, presentation, merchandising, portion control and maintenance of departmental food standards).

Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a food service environment.
  • Experience with food preparation, kitchen sanitation procedures and safety regulations.
  • Food Handlers Permit, or Food Safety Certification.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Comfortable managing a team in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Positive, can-do attitude and true ownership mentality.
  • Excellent organizational, customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • High energy and strong work ethic. Self-motivated to achieve excellence.
  • Ability to teach, demonstrate, communicate, and promote a guest-focused attitude and approach.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all food products are consistently prepared and served according to established recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards.
  • Follow all Company Policies and Established Procedures in the deli operation.
  • Oversee and train kitchen personnel in cleanliness and sanitation practices, and maintaining appropriate cleaning schedules for kitchen floors, mats, walls, hoods, other equipment, and food storage areas.
  • Keep work and service area in a safe, sanitary, and orderly manner.
  • Perform inspections that equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition, and by following the kitchen’s preventative maintenance programs. Contact equipment service providers as needed.
  • Provide professional and friendly assistance to customers, vendors, and other Associates.
  • Responsible for a high level of guest service standards and efficient operations.
