About The Position

The Food Service Manager at Cobble Hill Health Center is a vital role within our not-for-profit long- and short-term care facility, which has been dedicated to serving the disabled and elderly for over 40 years. This position is essential in helping us achieve our vision of exceeding expectations and setting the standard for excellence in residential and community care. As the Food Service Manager, you will oversee the operations for the evening shift, ensuring that dietary aides complete their tasks effectively and that cooks adhere to the established timeline for meal preparation. You will be responsible for ensuring that evening meals are prepared in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, as well as our internal policies and procedures. In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Dietary and will collaborate closely with cooks and cook helpers to ensure that meals are prepared according to recipes and in a timely manner. Your input will be valuable in menu planning and recipe development. The position requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality, as well as fostering a positive and efficient kitchen environment. You will also be responsible for supervising kitchen operations, delegating tasks, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations while maintaining clean storage areas and proper food handling techniques. This is a full-time position, requiring you to work five days a week from 12 PM to 8 PM, with rotating weekends.
