About The Position

The Food Service Manager is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of food service personnel in various dining areas, ensuring the delivery of well-balanced meals in compliance with the National School Lunch Program. This role involves collaboration with the Assistant Cafeteria Manager to build an effective team and manage food service operations efficiently.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Supervises food service personnel in the dining room and serving areas.
• Plans weekly food and supply orders in collaboration with the Assistant Manager.
• Develops varied menus following USDA guidelines to ensure nutritional suitability for students.
• Trains employees on sanitation and food safety practices.
• Audits daily preparation and serving amounts, verifying production reports.
• Reports any accidents occurring in the kitchen/dining room to the Principal and Food Service Director.
• Confers with management regarding personnel issues.
• Schedules regular meetings with food service staff and the Assistant Manager.
• Audits and approves daily bank deposits and cash counts.
• Plans and organizes catering events, including ordering and invoicing.
• Schedules and approves employee schedules in the Time Clock System.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director or CFO.
