About The Position

SAGE Dining Services is seeking a highly qualified Assistant Food Service Director with expertise in high volume food production and high-end catering. This hands-on role involves managing a large workforce and client relations in a beautiful campus setting in Wallingford, CT. The position requires flexibility as it operates seven days a week, including weekends and evenings, and emphasizes job satisfaction and community involvement.

Requirements

  • Culinary degree preferred, but not required.
  • Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Fluency in sanitation and safety standards.
  • Dynamic get-it-done work ethic.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to plan and organize with proficiency.
  • High volume food service management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate exemplary customer service skills and develop client relationships.
  • Assist in general location management as part of the SAGE management team.
  • Assist in ordering and inventory management, scheduling, catering, and production as needed.
  • Communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively.
  • Implement and maintain HACCP standards.
  • Participate in the interviewing, hiring, training, and ongoing mentoring of the team.
  • Lead by example and mentor a collaborative environment focused on safety, customer service, and Team Member satisfaction.
