About The Position

Kitchen Helper/Titan Express 5.75 Hours per day - 5 Days per week 6:15am – 7:45am 9:00am – 1:15pm 183 Days per year SUMMARY: To assist in the preparation and serving of food to students/staff in a quick and professional manner.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of certification for Applied Food Service Sanitation Course taken through statewide training or local training.
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Previous experience with large scale cooking and food preparation/serving.
  • Ability to pass an entry level aptitude test.
  • Ability to work in a friendly manner with co-workers and students.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily food preparation as assigned, including but not limited to salad making, sandwich making, deli slicing, cookies, pretzels, etc.
  • Implement H.A.C.C.P. procedures as requested.
  • Assist with the daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment and ensure cleanliness and sanitation conditions are met.
  • Sets up and breaks down serving lines (salad bar, hot food, a la carte, snack food line and room, etc.).
  • Ability to perform all responsibilities of a helper, including but not limited to, operate all equipment, POS/cash register, count money, make change, and reconciliation of bank deposit and daily paper work.
  • Works professionally with both students and staff.
  • Is familiar with reimbursable lunch requirements and can properly identify a reimbursable lunch.
  • Shall, as requested by the Director of Food Service, participate in workshops or in-service training programs which may improve his/her skills for overall improvement of the district’s lunch program.
  • Shall perform other similar duties as may be requested by the Head Cook and/or Director of Food Service.
