About The Position

Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Food Service I Essential Duties: Perform preparation duties such as rinsing, peeling, slicing, and dicing fruits and vegetables. Replenish food items and ensure products are stocked to appropriate levels. Maintain excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward guests, customers, staff, faculty, students, and co-workers. Ensure security of company assets. Wash and sterilize food trays, dishes, and utensils. Break down, clean, and sanitize workstations. Set up workstations including prep tables, service counters, hot wells, and steam tables. Properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures. Wrap, date-label, and store food items. Clean and organize work areas, equipment, utensils, and service stations. Follow established recipes to prepare menu items. Follow guidelines to ensure correct serving temperatures and adequate portion control. Order supplies and receive deliveries, storing items properly. Clean, wash, and sterilize tables, chairs, and dining areas. Take out trash. Sweep and mop dining areas and clean restrooms. Serve guests at drink stations. Serve customers in a fast, efficient, and friendly manner. Operate a point-of-sale cash register, process credit cards, and perform end-of-day reconciliation. Comply with all relevant safety, hygiene, and service standards and procedures. Work outside the assigned schedule when necessary to complete job duties. Participate in the annual Discovery Day event held each April.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to read and write.
  • Six (6) months of food service experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain food handler’s permit within six months of hire.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Ability to count money and operate a cash register.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn standard health regulations as they apply to food preparation and service.
  • Experience using timekeeping equipment.
  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work well within a team or independently.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with limited oversight.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Moderate dexterity in operating machinery, tools, or office equipment.
  • Standing or walking for extended periods; reaching overhead.
  • Working with hands in hot water and chemicals.
  • Possible exposure to extreme heat and cold.
  • Ability to properly lift heavy items from a stooping position.
  • Normal visual acuity, field of vision, hearing, speaking abilities, color perception, depth perception, and texture perception.
