About The Position

Food Service Director – Skilled Nursing Facility Location: Orange, NJ A well-established Skilled Nursing Facility in Orange, NJ is seeking an experienced Food Service Director to lead and manage all dietary operations. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality meal service, regulatory compliance, and resident satisfaction in a fast-paced SNF environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Food Service Director, Dietary Manager, or similar role in a Skilled Nursing Facility or long-term care setting
• Knowledge of CMS regulations, sanitation requirements, and therapeutic diets
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with nursing leadership and administration
• ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain)

Nice To Haves

• Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or equivalent certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee all dietary and food service operations for residents and staff
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations (CMS, DOH, sanitation standards)
• Plan, implement, and monitor therapeutic and special diets in coordination with nursing and clinical teams
• Manage food service staff including hiring, scheduling, training, and performance management
• Control food, labor, and supply costs while maintaining quality and nutrition standards
• Maintain accurate documentation, menus, production records, and sanitation logs
• Prepare for and participate in state surveys and inspections
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and dining environment
