About The Position

The Food Service Director is a leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of dining operations at a camp for children with serious medical conditions. This position focuses on creating innovative dining solutions, ensuring a seamless dining experience, and leading a team to provide exceptional hospitality services. The role involves menu planning, operational management, and maintaining safety and sanitation standards while fostering a positive environment for both staff and campers.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in food service management.
• 1-3 years of experience in a management role.
• Previous experience in food service operations.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective client and customer rapport.
• Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other departments.
• Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain systems and procedures for food ordering, receiving, storing, preparing, and serving.
• Develop operational forecasts and explain variances; responsible for accounting functions.
• Ensure sanitation and safety requirements are met in all areas.
• Coordinate and supervise unit personnel regarding production, merchandising, quality, and cost control.
• Recruit, hire, develop, and retain front line team members.
• Conduct periodic inventory and maintain compliance records.
• Interact with Client Management and maintain effective client and customer relations.
• Participate in sales processes and contract negotiations.
• Implement new products and services to support sales growth.
