Food Service Direct Support-Southern and Western Indiana
About The Position
Canteen Services Inc . We are currently seeking a candidate to fill a Full-Time Food Service Direct Support position to support multiple Correctional Facilities we service. If you can travel with company car, able to stay overnight and sometimes up to a week at a time, have a strong sense of character & ability to perform well in a structured kitchen environment, this is the job for you. Companywide we serve approximately 600,000 meals to inmates and seniors monthly; we do this at the highest levels of service and integrity. What is a day in the life of a Direct Support? A Direct Support will be traveling in between our different locations in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio to provide support where needed. They will assist in prepping and preparing meals to our companies' recipes, including working with special diets and adjust meals accordingly. They will also oversee and train inmates on the knowledge of food handling and cleanliness within the kitchen. You would be responsible for taking temperatures to follow food safety guidelines and being prepared for DOC inspections, as well as continue constant communication with our team and the facility we are representing.
Requirements
- Must be able to travel to various locations
- Availability to work various shifts
- Hours range depending on facility
- Availability to work weekends and holidays
- Must be able to do overtime if needed
- Successfully pass a background check
- Successfully pass a drug screen
- Successfully pass a motor vehicle report
Nice To Haves
- Previous food service or related experience is a plus
Responsibilities
