About The Position

Melaleuca's in-house restaurant serves a wide ranging menu that is a great benefit to our employees. The Food Service - Deli Team Member is responsible for preparing food items in the deli area (sandwiches, wraps, salads, pizzas, etc.). If you are looking for a great job with career potential that also has a good work schedule, this is it. Shift is typically Monday through Friday 7:30am-4pm (no weekends or holidays).

Requirements

• Previous food industry experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting
• Ability to work in a fast pace and remain calm and focused under stress
• Ability to accept coaching and adapt in an ever changing environment
• Professional demeanor and appearance as we have an open Kitchen and service area
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Visually read recipes, orders, product labels, etc.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math skills
• Valid Drivers License with a good driving record
• Ability to perform the essential duties with efficiency and accuracy

Responsibilities

• Prepares items for salad bar (i.e., wash and cut up vegetables, slice meats, eggs etc.)
• Prepares deli food orders (sandwiches, wraps, salads, etc.)
• Delivering To Go Orders to our 4 off site locations
• Assists with preparing ingredients ready for the next day
• Assists with closing duties (i.e., putting food away, emptying the garbage and general cleaning)
• Cleans and services kitchen equipment (i.e., fryer, 6burner, broiler, change filters, ovens, meat slicer etc.)
• Assists in training other food service assistants as needed by demonstrating tasks, answering questions, etc.
• Monitors food quality by following recipes with accuracy, First In First out food safety practices and measures proper food portioning with a scale
• Inspects quality of own work
• Operates register when needed
• Operates the conveyor dishwashing machine
• Scrubs Pots and Pans
• Maintains overall cleanliness and sanitation of work area
• Follows food safety practices
• Performs other duties as assigned or needed
