About The Position

The Food Service Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the Child Nutrition Program for the club, including meal planning and preparation, service, maintenance and clean-up of the cafeteria. Review and monitor the operations and activities of the cafeteria, provide leadership, supervision and training to program and volunteer staff; manage budgets and control expenses as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum of two years experience in the operation of a Boys & Girls Club (or similar organization) preferred.
  • Administrative or supervisory experience in a food service or institutional food service program.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources policies and BGC Youth Development Strategy.
  • Understanding of State licensing requirements for Child Care Center Food Service.
  • Management skills to analyze programs, policies, and operation needs.
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures related to cafeterias.
  • CPR and first aid certifications.
  • Valid (state) driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in food purchasing, menu planning, inventory, and financial reporting.
  • Ability to maintain a high energy level and perform multi-faceted projects.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the Child Nutrition Program.
  • Manage meal planning and preparation, service, maintenance, and clean-up of the cafeteria.
  • Review and monitor cafeteria operations and activities.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and training to program and volunteer staff.
  • Manage budgets and control expenses as assigned.
  • Provide direct supervision to volunteers and assigned staff.
  • Ensure adherence to the organization’s Operations Plan.
  • Provide food service at special programs and/or events.
  • Ensure program outcome measurement by staff.
  • Inspect and test food for quality.
  • Plan menu and prepare meals for other sites as needed.
  • Operate computer and modern software to maintain a computerized Child Nutrition Services program.
