About the position

Vertex Education is hiring a detail-oriented and service-driven Food Service Client Coordinator to join our Vertex Support Services (VSS) team. This role emphasizes client relationship management, team coordination, and compliance oversight in alignment with federal and state regulations for child nutrition programs. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing and organizing the team to provide exceptional service to clients, building and maintaining strong client partnerships, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing service delivery across multiple regions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Senior NSLP Manager to build strong, lasting relationships with partner schools.
  • Hold regular meetings with key-decision makers at partner schools to foster strong relationships and align on service objectives.
  • Provide comprehensive support during the onboarding process, including paperwork completion, document management, and compliance training.
  • Actively address client concerns and resolve service issues to enhance client satisfaction and long-term engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations and requirements governing food service operations in each target market.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for state agencies, facilitating communication, responding to inquiries, and proactively addressing compliance issues.
  • Work with partner schools to obtain and maintain the necessary permits and licenses for food service operations.
  • Maintain records of professional standards and staff training to ensure compliance.
  • Create and disseminate media and parent communications to support program awareness and engagement.
  • Attend state agency training as needed to keep up on all regulations and requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, records, and reports related to regulatory compliance, client interactions, and business operations in an organized manner in preparation for audit.
  • Manage client relationships and project tasks using Asana to track progress and ensure timely delivery.
  • Coordinate with internal department team members as needed to fulfill client requirements.
  • Organize, prioritize, and assign tasks to team members, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
  • Streamline project workflows and task management for enhanced efficiency and organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in child nutrition, business, or communications, or 3+ years of proven experience in account management or client relations in a similar field.
  • Strong understanding of the National School Lunch Program regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Proficiency in Asana project management, Microsoft Office Suite, LINQ/Titan, and other relevant software applications.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is highly desirable.
