About The Position

A Food Service Clerk is responsible for maintaining customer service as per company standard, generating sales, housekeeping, merchandising, signing, pricing, loss prevention in adherence to all company policies and store standards. Food Service Clerks will be responsible for working in all three facets of food service; Deli, Juice Bar and Kitchen

Responsibilities

  • Desire and willingness to work in all three facets of Food Service; Deli, Juice Bar and Kitchen.
  • Ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer service by providing a customer friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of customer service.
  • Maintain an awareness of all product knowledge information, merchandise promotions and advertisements.
  • Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance and store housekeeping.
  • Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise; participate in receiving and monitoring floor stock; ensures unwanted merchandise is returned to shelf promptly.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and practices including signing, pricing, and loss prevention.
  • Communicates openly, respectfully, and honestly with all others in the organization.
  • Reports to work for scheduled shifts, on-time and appropriately uniformed.
  • Communicate customer requests to management.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.
  • Responsible for health, quality and safety standards and protocols of all food service staff.
  • Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store.
  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store generally weighing 0-40 pounds.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
  • Ability to communicate with associates and guests.
  • Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation.
  • Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and register area.
  • Knows proper knife skills
  • Understands the importance of tasting and seasoning food properly.
  • Understands menu and techniques required to execute the menu properly
  • Ability to follow basic recipes.
  • Keeps a clean and organized work station before, during, and post shift.
  • Able to identify product quality and freshness.
  • Be able to understand and label dating protocols as per State Guidelines
  • Be able to understand the basics of TILT concerning food service rotation.
  • Strong work ethic and integrity.
  • Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 40 pounds.
  • Push and pull carts and pallets.
  • Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
  • Environmental exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, ovens, freezer, outdoors, etc.)
