About The Position
The Food Service Cafeteria Worker performs a variety of duties related to the school food service program, ensuring that food service facilities are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition. This role involves setting up serving areas and steam tables, serving food to students and faculty, and counting milk and other food items as assigned. The worker must adhere to safe and sanitary working practices and procedures, including completing a 'Safe Serve' course within the first 6 months of the probation period. Responsibilities also include collecting money, making change, and using a cash register effectively. Proper storage of food items and supplies is essential, along with performing related duties as assigned by the manager.
