This position involves hot and cold food production for retail sales, including slicing fruits, vegetables, desserts, and meats. The associate is responsible for setting up the café for sales, stocking food and paper products, and frequently checking and documenting food temperatures. They also monitor temperatures of freezers, refrigeration, dishwashers, and heating units, notifying a Supervisor of any non-compliance. Maintaining clean and orderly refrigeration units, requisitioning and replenishing food and supplies, inspecting items for integrity, rotating stock, and disposing of outdated products are also key tasks. The role includes properly wrapping, labeling, and dating food items, portioning and packaging cold foods, stocking and cleaning refrigerated display cases, and preparing beverages like coffee, juice, and smoothies. The associate maintains a clean and sanitary work area, café serving and seating areas, and equipment, which includes pushing food carts, racks, and dish bins. They may also cook at the grill, fryer, or sandwich grill, and perform deep cleaning of various kitchen and café areas. Daily signage maintenance and using standardized and non-standardized recipes are also part of the job, along with assisting in other areas as requested.
