About The Position

Meriwether Godsey is looking for a Full-time Food Service Associate at a flagship seminary school in the heart of Alexandria, VA. Must be available to work as follows: Full Time $18.00 an hour M-Th 11 am-7 pm and Friday 9 am-3 pm What the Food Service Associate will do: Greet customers with a positive and friendly attitude Transport food and supplies: assist in the set-up, maintenance, and breakdown, food serving, and beverage areas. Serves and replenishes food from food counters and steam tables. Assists in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods, and properly stores food, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage. Keep dining room areas and assigned kitchen areas neat and organized Clean and sanitize work areas, dining tables, chairs, and equipment throughout and after meal periods Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of other kitchen areas by following daily and weekly cleaning assignments Inspects workstations for compliance with service standards. Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments. Assist management and production staff with coordination and execution of catering events, on- and off-site Gather, pack, set up, and break down wares for catering events Communicate with the Director regarding wares and supply needs for catering. Maintain and organize catering wares Other duties as may be required for client catering needs What the Food Service Associate will need: Prior food service, catering and bartending experience preferred High School Diploma or Equivalent Excellent communication and good organizational skills Flexibility; ability to switch between locations and job duties Willingness to learn about and execute MG-style catering procedures ServSafe Food Handler Certification preferred.
