About The Position

As a Food Service Associate at Food City, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and courteous customer service, supporting the company's mission to 'Run the Best Store in Town.' Your responsibilities will include maintaining a positive attitude and creating an atmosphere of friendliness and fun through flexibility and teamwork. You will be expected to generate a positive, friendly, and fun working environment with a customer-first initiative by greeting and speaking to customers, providing prompt, courteous, and efficient customer service. Additionally, you will prepare and produce quality food and products to meet or exceed customer and company expectations, which includes making sandwiches, assisting with the hot bar, slicing meats and cheese, serving food and drinks, and taking telephone orders for food and specialty cakes. Keeping your workstation and the surrounding area neat and clean is essential, as is following the company Food Safety program and assisting in stocking and proper rotation of products. Food Service Associates should expect to be cross-trained in multiple areas with varying responsibilities.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Food service experience a plus, but not required.
• Ability to meet standard physical, mental, and visual demands.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions.
• Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks.
• Ability to have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis.
• Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts.

Responsibilities
