About The Position

The Food Service Associate (Retail) greets and serves internal and external customers in a polite and courteous manner from assigned area. This role performs a variety of responsibilities including handling money, operating a cash register, preparing food items and beverages, operating equipment safely, stocking and cleaning assigned areas, performing sanitation duties, and participating in cross-utilization of department personnel. The position is located within the Nutrition & Food Services Main Dining Room at the Yale Campus in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Saint Francis is a Catholic, not-for-profit Health system based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and is the largest private employer in Eastern Oklahoma with over 12,000 employees, including 1,000 physicians. The health system is anchored by the 1,112-bed Saint Francis Hospital and includes other hospitals and numerous clinic locations.

Requirements

  • Valid Oklahoma Food Handler's permit.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to accept direction and supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 6 months of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and serve internal and external customers politely and courteously from assigned area.
  • Handle money and operate cash register according to proper techniques, ensuring money variances are within acceptable standards, and minimizing voids and error corrects.
  • Prepare food items and beverages, including coffee, coffee drinks, tea, smoothies, salads, sandwiches, burritos, and pizza, operating equipment safely.
  • Observe and follow recipes by accurately weighing and measuring ingredients for food and drink items.
  • Stock and keep the work area clean, participating in deep cleaning duties to meet required sanitation standards.
  • Perform sanitation duties as assigned.
  • Participate in cross-utilization of department personnel as needed.
  • Adhere to department policy and wear designated uniform.
  • Demonstrate good personal hygiene and accept direction.
  • Follow safety practices, cost awareness, and adhere to schedule and assigned break periods.
