As a Food Service Worker/Grill Cook in our cafeteria, you will play a pivotal role in creating an enjoyable dining experience for our customers. You will assist in food preparation, service, and maintaining a clean and inviting cafeteria environment. This position requires a positive attitude, excellent teamwork skills, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality service.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a food service role, preferably in a cafeteria, restaurant, or similar setting.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to work well in a team and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic math skills for handling cash transactions.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Work around others in close quarters.
  • Able to lift and carry 50LBs or more on a repetitive basis, with the ability to reach and bend frequently.
  • Must be able to consent to a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must be able to consent to a pre-employment background check.
  • Ability to follow workplace safety policies and guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a variety of food items, including hot meals, sandwiches, salads, and beverages, with utmost attention to quality and presentation.
  • Follow established recipes, portion sizes, and food safety guidelines to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean and organized cafeteria by adhering to sanitation and hygiene standards.
  • Restock and replenish food supplies, condiments, and utensils as needed.
  • Operate and clean kitchen equipment, such as ovens, grills, fryers, and coffee machines.
  • Assist with food inventory management, including monitoring stock levels and reporting any shortages or discrepancies.
  • Provide friendly and efficient customer service by addressing customer inquiries, dietary restrictions, and special requests.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently using a cash register or point-of-sale system.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow, timely service, and a positive dining experience for all customers.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations to maintain a safe and welcoming work environment.
