About The Position

Rivers Health is seeking a Food Service Assistant who will be able to assist:

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must have food handlers card.
• Must be able to read and write.
• Must have basic math skills.
• Must be able to understand and communicate with patients and customers of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for assembling patient meals on tray line.
• Sets up patient tray line for service.
• Washes dishes, pots, and pans.
• Maintains proper sanitation standards with washing equipment.
• Prepares cold food and garnishes patient meals.
• Operates and uses food service equipment (including cash register) to established procedures.
• Responsible for effective use of materials (portion control).
• Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing plates, utensils and small wares.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Pushes patient food carts to floors at breakfast and lunch (dinner as needed).
• Complies with Hospital Policies, Departmental Policies and Procedures and Personnel Employee Handbook.
• Demonstrates excellence in customer service skills.
• Fosters an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration.
• Participates in quality improvement activities including serving on quality improvement teams.
