This position involves flexible every other weekend work within our dietary department to serve our long-term care residents at meal time. Basic kitchen duties include cleaning, serving food, washing dishes, and the ability to work independently.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous customer service experience or knowledge of food service operations is desirable.
• Ability to work independently when necessary.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation processes.
• Ability to be on feet for the majority of the day and walk long distances.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and record proper temperature of food.
• Set up and maintain a clean and sanitized serving area.
• Prepare and serve food items.
• Restock food areas.
• Clean and sanitize equipment.
• Receive payment for food and beverages using a computerized register.
• Comply with Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines for food service.
• Provide outstanding customer service and effectively communicate with patrons and co-workers.
• Establish effective working relationships.
• Maintain quality control standards.
• Operate equipment such as grills, beverage machines, toasters, ice cream dispensers, cash registers, computerized cash registers, steam equipment, dishwashers, telephones, refrigerators, and freezers.
