About The Position
Under the direction of the Food Service Supervisor, assist in cooking and baking activities; participate in the assembly and serving of lunches and snacks at a high school central kitchen; inspect food packs to assure quality and quantity of food items; maintain work area and equipment in a safe, clean and sanitary condition. The Food Service Assistant II class is a single position class. The incumbent assists in the basic preparation, cooking and heating of food items. Food Service Assistant I incumbents work in a central kitchen assembling and packaging food for transport to District satellite serving facilities and assist in serving lunches and snacks to students and faculty.
