This is a casual, part-time Food Service Assist position within the Food and Nutrition department at AMC Mount Pleasant. The role involves a rotation between AM and PM operations, typically between 6:30 AM and 6:30 PM, and includes working every other weekend and holiday rotation. Key responsibilities include assembling and delivering patient and mobile meal trays according to diet guidelines, loading and transporting food carts, and maintaining cleanliness in the cafeteria and kitchen. The assistant will also operate a cash register, handle cash, and complete daily reports. Other duties involve washing dishes, assisting with the preparation, delivery, setup, cleanup, and presentation of catered and specialized events, and preparing various food items like snacks, beverages, sandwiches, entrees, and salads. The position requires replenishing food service areas and nursing units, and monitoring food temperatures to ensure safe food handling. No formal education or prior experience is required, but basic food service knowledge, good communication, customer service, and intermediate computer skills are necessary.
