About the Role Spiegelworld is looking for a Food Server Steady Extra to join the team at Superfrico at the Cosmopolitan. The Food Server is responsible for guiding each guest through their dining experience. The ideal candidate should have hospitality at heart and the people skills to make sure each guest has a positive dining experience from the moment they arrive till their departure. Ultimately, you’ll ensure we provide excellent guest experience by providing personalized service, checking in with guests, presenting the bill, and everything in between. This is a steady extra position and the schedule will be based on the team’s needs that pays $ 14.4327/hour . This position reports to Restaurant Management.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in a fine dining, full service restaurant setting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English.
  • Working knowledge of all restaurant functions.
  • Working knowledge of tableside service.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain calm in a very high paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with other department employees and guests.
  • Effectively assist with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring diplomacy, tact, friendliness, poise and firmness.
  • Previous experience working in an energetic, hospitality driven restaurant required.
  • A highly motivated and energetic personality with a strong commitment to excellence in hospitality.
  • Successful background check clearance prior to hire
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled/needed.
  • Must have valid work authorization for the US
  • At least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver prompt, efficient and courteous service of food and beverages to guests in accordance with established standards.
  • Perform necessary tasks to service guests, i.e. taking and filling all food and drink orders and assisting in maintaining guests’ dining area in a clean and neat manner.
  • Tour guide our wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage choices.
  • Actively engage in our antiracist commitment and internal practices by participating in offered learnings, engaging in conversations around Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and helping us maintain a safe and welcoming workspace.
  • Create a work environment which promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction.

  • Utilize sales techniques to suggestively upsell.
  • Monitor guests’ needs on a continual basis, ensuring all requests will be promptly fulfilled.
  • Follow sanitation and table maintenance standards for amazing guest service.
  • Participate as an employee in producing a smoothly and efficiently run banquet event.
  • Assist other employees with maintenance (side work, opening/closing duties) as necessary.
  • Make every effort to learn guest names and use names.
  • Taking part in pre-service duties and applicable closing duties
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.
