Requirements

  • Candidate must obtain appropriate licensing as set forth by the PGCB and Presque Isle Downs & Casino.
  • Candidate must be able to sit, lift, bend, stoop, climb, walk, and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Candidate is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Candidate is required to talk and hear.
  • The employee may be required to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, menus, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Candidate will take orders, deliver food & beverages, ensure optimal customer service, and organize and clean the front and back of the restaurant.
  • Interacts with guests in a positive manner. Smiles, makes guests feel welcome and comfortable, and maintains a high level of professionalism at all times.
  • Takes beverage and food orders, delivers orders to tables, and cashes out guests. Must be able to maintain a minimum of 4-6 tables at one time.
  • Consistently utilizes the pivot method when serving tables.
  • Maintains a complete and thorough knowledge of all menu items, including feature items.
  • Will work with all staff and management to strive to exceed guest expectations and value perception.
  • Communicates to supervisors and management compliments and concerns in a positive manner.
  • Maintains an organized and clean station and dining room as well as replenishes dining room items as assigned.
  • Works in a team atmosphere and may be required to bus tables, clean up, and complete other assigned tasks.
  • Possesses excellent verbal and cash handling skills along with a full knowledge of basic alcohol beverage and food service.
  • Possesses knowledge of upscale service techniques, food, specific wine and specialty beverage knowledge and communication skills.
  • Will work nights, weekends, holidays and special events.
  • May be required to learn and be tested on a variety of new products, recipes, service and cooking techniques on a regular basis to ensure the department is improving as a whole.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The Candidate must have excellent communication skills, be polite, present a neat appearance and be committed to 100% customer service.

Nice To Haves

  • MICROS or POS system knowledge preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Prior restaurant experience preferred but not required.
  • LBV Server should have 1-3 years' experience in a fine-dining setting.
  • Bartending skills a plus.
