The Food Server is responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external guest. The Food server is also responsible for serving food and beverages. This position requires providing superior guest service, positively affecting interactions with external and internal guests and team members, and having the resiliency to deal with difficult guests in all types of business conditions while working harmoniously with other team members. The Food Server recognizes guests immediately with a friendly, courteous greeting and informs them of daily specials, soup of the day, etc. They also act as a 'walking information center' by providing information on all aspects of the menu. The role includes assisting guests with menu and beverage selection, demonstrating salesmanship with complete menu and product knowledge, and ensuring guest satisfaction through food quality checks and responsiveness to guest complaints. The Food Server maintains a well-groomed, neat, and clean appearance, carrying out duties with attention to sanitation and safety. They anticipate, identify, and provide for guest needs, perform inventories and other duties as assigned, and perform tableside cooking, salad entrées, desserts, and present, open and pour wines, and prepare and serve non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages.
