About The Position

The Research & Innovation (R&I) Food Scientist II plays a crucial role in developing innovative food solutions, focusing on powder, liquid, and puree products. This position is responsible for overseeing all technical and process aspects of product development from concept to launch, ensuring compliance with local legislation and quality standards. The role involves cross-functional collaboration, conducting tests, and providing technical support to various departments, ultimately contributing to the company's product innovation and market success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline relevant to food or pharmaceuticals.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant product development and/or research experience.
  • Strong technical skills in product formulation, industrial processes, and manufacturing practices.
  • Knowledge of process technologies, including puree, liquids, and powders.
  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent in English, both written and orally; Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus.

  • Master's degree in Food Engineering, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or Production Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all technical and process aspects of projects from concept to launch.
  • Work cross-functionally with various business areas to cover product composition and design.
  • Lead and conduct pilot and industrial tests for product validation during development phases.
  • Design and conduct sensory analyses to ensure products meet consumer expectations.
  • Conduct shelf-life testing through sensory and laboratory analysis.
  • Prepare technical dossiers for registration processes according to local legislation.
  • Review and approve artworks related to projects.
  • Progress a portfolio of technical projects on time.
  • Provide ongoing technical support for new and existing products.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior management.
  • Proactively seek opportunities for innovation through new processes and technologies.
  • Ensure compliance of specifications with functional, quality, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
