About The Position

The Food Sanitation Team Member plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and food-safe production environment by supporting the sanitation and production teams in the proper disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of all cheese converting and related equipment. This role contributes to operational excellence by upholding sanitation standards, supporting training efforts, and ensuring that all cleaning tasks align with company policies, safety regulations, and quality expectations. The Food Sanitation Team Member also assists in preparing equipment for daily production, communicates effectively with cross-functional teams, and fosters a culture of cleanliness, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the facility. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Sanitation Operations & Equipment · Inspects sanitation work and verifies compliance with standards to ensure safe and timely production start-up. · Performs sanitation tasks across the facility, including periodic deep cleaning. · Provides sanitation support and break relief when required. · Anticipates sanitation needs, organizes work effectively, and troubleshoots issues related to cleaning and equipment setup. Chemical Handling & Usage · Safely handles and applies cleaning chemicals according to established procedures. · Prepares chemical solutions by titrating to the proper concentrations. · Refills and replaces chemical drums and barrels throughout the plant. Documentation & Compliance · Accurately completes sanitation worksheets, logs, and schedules. · Follows all company Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and food safety policies. · Immediately reports any food safety or quality concerns to management or authorized personnel. Training & Coaching · Trains and coaches team members on sanitation processes, including manual cleaning, equipment setup/teardown, and troubleshooting techniques. · Supports production team members by reinforcing proper sanitation methods and promoting efficiency. DIRECT REPORTS This position is not responsible for leading team members.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency (GED) is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of sanitation practices is preferred.
