About The Position

The Food Safety & Technical Coordinator supports the company’s food safety, and technical compliance programs for domestic and international operations. This role works closely with growers, foreign suppliers, packing facilities, customers, and certification bodies to ensure audit readiness, supplier approval, regulatory compliance, and clear communication across multiple food safety and customer compliance platforms.

Requirements

  • Experience in food safety, quality assurance, or technical compliance within fresh produce (stone fruit and/or berries strongly preferred)
  • Familiarity with organic requirements, MRL requirements, supplier approval processes, and food safety audits
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across suppliers, customers, and audit programs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)
  • Valid, clean driver’s license and ability to travel locally for off-site locations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience reviewing foreign supplier audits and compliance documentation
  • Knowledge of water quality and residue testing requirements in fresh produce
  • Experience with export compliance and international suppliers
  • Comfort working in customer portals and compliance databases

Responsibilities

  • Review, maintain, and track food safety and social compliance audits for domestic and foreign suppliers
  • Support audits and certifications including (but not limited to): PrimusGFS, GlobalG.A.P., SMETA
  • Track audit statuses, corrective actions, and renewal timelines
  • Evaluate audit documentation to determine supplier approval status
  • Monitor Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) for domestic and export markets
  • Review water analysis and residue analysis results to verify compliance with customer and regulatory requirements
  • Support microbial swabbing and environmental monitoring programs, including review, tracking, and documentation of results
  • Assist with evaluation of results and follow-up actions when required
  • Approve suppliers based on analytical results and compliance criteria
  • Communicate technical findings and approvals internally and, as needed, to customers
  • Communicate audit standings, corrective action status, and compliance documentation to customers
  • Maintain and update customer compliance portals.
  • Ensure accurate and timely upload of certifications, audits, and food safety documentation
  • Assist with documentation, and response to customer and consumer complaints
  • Assist in product tracebacks to identify affected lots, growers, and packing facilities
  • Communicate traceback findings to internal teams and growers in a timely and clear manner
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions related to complaints or quality/food safety concerns
  • Provide customers with requested documentation and findings as appropriate
  • Communicate audit, food safety, and compliance requirements to growers and suppliers
  • Assist growers and suppliers with understanding certification expectations and timelines
  • Support document collection and audit preparation effort
  • Coordinate and support organic audits for sales and packing facility
  • Maintain organic certification records and compliance documentation
  • Support ongoing organic program management, including renewals, updates, and corrective actions
