Role Description: The Food Safety/QA Intern will gain invaluable real-world experience in the oversight of a food manufacturing facility's Food Safety/Quality Management System. This role is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the regulations, processes, and responsibilities involved in ensuring food safety. The intern will work alongside seasoned professionals and contribute to the site's food safety and food defense plans. Additional housing stipend from $1,500 to $3,000 depending on work and candidate's location.

Requirements

  • Must be a student at an accredited university pursuing a degree in Food Science (preferred) or a physical science.
  • Ability to work effectively in an industrial environment.
  • Safety-minded and willing to learn.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

  • Support management in the implementation of the site's Food Safety and Food Defense Plans.
  • Participate in 3rd party and customer audits, gaining exposure to the audit process.
  • Perform food safety and quality inspections on-site.
  • Develop training tools to assist operations personnel in understanding and implementing food safety principles.
