About The Position

Join our team as a Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Technician, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Your responsibilities will include: Performing physical and visual inspections of products and plant systems. Documenting and calculating results accurately. Taking corrective action when necessary, such as alerting appropriate personnel to adjust processes, identifying, segregating, and isolating non-conforming products, and reporting results to management. Handling additional assignments as requested. At Tyson Foods, safety is paramount. This includes both personal safety and food safety.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in the food manufacturing industry OR related Quality Assurance type experience.
  • Communication Skills: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Special Skills: Must possess skills to complete Tyson paperwork. Ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce. Good problem identification and problem-solving skills. Math and organizational skills. Ability to read and interpret product specifications. Must function well under stress. Must have flexibility to work where and when needed.
  • Physical Requirements: Position involves heavy lifting (50 lbs. or more). Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day Must work in cold/hot temperatures Must be able to work in wet environment Repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, gripping, pushing and pulling Must be able to reach high and low levels, frequently Ability to climb step ladders and or stairs Must be able to work overtime and weekends
  • Position will require Lock Out Tag Out certification

  • Internal disqualifiers are the following: Must not have 4 or more attendance points for locations on an 8 point policy (on application date) No written warning in the past six (6) months No suspension on record for the last 12 months
  • This position is slated for candidates who are currently working at this facility. Priority consideration will be provided to these applicants first. If local Team Members are not selected, Team Members from other locations will then be reviewed for consideration.
