About The Position

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Provide the student with the opportunity to leverage their academic understanding in a real-world, business-driven corporate food safety & operations environment. The intern will assist the Inspire Food Safety team in completing both project and routine work. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in the analysis and development of food safety metrics and business processes. Potential projects may include developing corrective action plans from audit results and customer complaints, reviewing restaurant food safety job aids and HACCP programs for enhancements, and supporting cooking validations. Monitor and assist with restaurant emergency contact hotline and customer complaint information for food safety-related incidents that need further investigation. Review restaurant operations training material to verify that content and images align with Brand Food Safety Requirements. Collaborate on development of processes and job aids to support chemical and pest prevention programs. Requirements

  • Undergraduate coursework in Biology, Chemistry, Nutrition, Food Safety, or Quality Assurance (other related majors will be considered)
  • Food Service experience
  • Basic knowledge of FDA Food Code
  • Ability to give/receive constructive feedback
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task effectively
  • Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team skills
  • Strong computer skills and quickly learn computer systems
  • Ability to manage confidential information
  • Ability to work remotely

  • Restaurant (QSR) experience
